"... I wanted to share my passion with others..."

My Story
I started Judo when I was 7 years old. For as long as I can remember, Judo has been a large part of my life. I have made life long friends and memories that I will forever cherish while practicing and competing in Judo. I have competed nationally and internationally and each tournament has been a learning experience. As I got older, I wanted to share my passion with others which is how NUMA came to be. Because of personal circumstances, I decided to step away from club ownership for a couple years but always knew that teaching Judo was my calling and my passion and that I would re-open NUMA in due course. Here we are today, NUMA is back and I am so excited to continue to promote the sport in Nova Scotia and teach new and returning NUMA members.

I am a Sandan (3rd degree black belt) with my NCCP Level 3 Certification (Competition Development). I am also a Provincial A Referee. I run multiple after-school Judo programs for the youths and also regularly teach a Self Defence program for the visually impaired at the CNIB. I was the Male Coach for the Judo NS team at the 2019 Canada Winter Games. I also have my Level 1 CrossFit Certificate and coach our JFit program (Bootcamp style workouts) offered here at NUMA.
As you can see, I love to teach, I love Judo, and I love fitness! Ouss!
